Getting Involved

Come to a meeting, or call first if that feels easier. You do not have to commit to anything, say anything, or be certain you are alcoholic. You can simply come and listen.

If you are worried about your drinking, the simplest first step is to reach out. You can come to a meeting, or you can call San Fernando Valley Area of Alcoholics Anonymous first and talk to someone. You do not have to be ready to explain everything. You do not have to say you are alcoholic. You do not have to promise anything. You can simply attend a meeting and listen to people who understand what it is like to struggle with drinking. Many people feel nervous before their first meeting. That is normal. AA is full of people who once walked into their own first meeting unsure, afraid, or skeptical. When you are ready, find a meeting at /meetings/ or call San Fernando Valley Area of Alcoholics Anonymous at 818-988-3001.
